Here's the close-up of the chess cookies... they're all different chess pieces (here's a cool recipe that also shows all the cookies) and they're really pretty. :)

I got a little crazy with the bento this morning. I started off with the requisite cheese and chicken sandwich on whole wheat, threw in some of those chess cookies (a nice close-up is below), and a babybel cheese. Then I decided to include some of the jello I made last night... but it looked boring, so I thought maybe I'd use grapes to make a face, pushing two of them down for eyes and then wedging four more into a slit for the mouth... the eyes kept sliding around, so I'm sure it was really bizarre looking by lunch time. Finally, in the top right corner, I put in a square of brownie (I did a lot of food-making last night), a silicone cup of cashews, and two muscat gummis to fill up the gaps.
Here's the close-up of the chess cookies... they're all different chess pieces (here's a cool recipe that also shows all the cookies) and they're really pretty. :)
